Packet Conﬁguration

The conﬁg packet command enables you to conﬁgure the Packet Capture utility using the

Technician Interface. For information about the Bay Networks implementation of Packet

Capture, refer to Troubleshooting Routers.

The

conﬁg packet command supports the following subcommand options:

conﬁg packet line

[

<line_number>

]

conﬁg packet line [

<line_number>

] conﬁgures packet capturing on the speciﬁed line.

<line_number>

speciﬁes the line number of the physical line. You can enter the line

number on the command line or have the script prompt you for it.

The

conﬁg packet line command prompts for media type, slot number, and connector

number, so you should gather this information before you begin. After you enter this

information, the script displays available memory and the maximum packet save size. As it

runs, the script displays the current values of the following items and asks you to either

press return to conﬁrm or enter a new value.

conﬁg packet line [<line_number>] conﬁg packet unload [<slot>]

conﬁg packet load [<slot>]

Note: As with other script commands, entering ? as an option to conﬁg

packet invokes Technician Interface help for that command.
