E1 See digital.

EAP Element Access Pointer. The actual record number within a

MultiMedia file. The EAP correlates to an element’s position within

the file.

ECD Element Conversion Daemon. The software process that performs

file-to-message, message-to-item, and message-to-file conversions

for SMP.

ECT Event Callback Table. Keeps track of application functions that

should be invoked when an event is processed.

ELA Ethernet LAN Adapter. The TMS card that provides Ethernet

connectivity between the TMS and the UNIX/SPARC components.

ELA funnels data and messages between other cards and the TMS.

ELA is the daughter card physically connected to the VPC. The VPC-

ELA hardware is inserted as a single unit into the TMS.
