topology The geometric configuration, whether physical or electrical, of a local
communication network. The most common system topologies are
the bus, where all devices branch off of a central cable; the ring,
where all devices are connected consecutively in a loop; and the star,
in which all components are connected to a central hub.
total call timer The system timer (total) that defines the total time allotted for a call,
including referrals. The default is 10 minutes. When total expires,
PLM issues calltim to the application. Use a PeriProducer
Environment block to set total.
The application does not receive calltim if it is in referral when the
total call timer expires.

touchtone The audible, continuous signals generated by pushing a button on a
telephone keypad. The signal is actually made up of two tones.
Also known as DTMF tone.
TPLC T1 Phone Line Controller/Card. PLC (both hardware and software)
for digital telephone line interfaces. One TPLC supports two spans.
Specific T1 hardware includes T1-1000 and T1-2000.
Contrast with VPLC.
