ike parameters

The IKE SA is re-negotiated when its lifetime expires; the shorter the

lifetime, the more frequently the IKE SA is re-negotiated. Thus, a shorter

lifetime increases security. Use this command to configures the IKE

parameters.

Syntax config ike parameters lifetime <seconds> maxlifetime <seconds>

Parameters lifetime seconds Specify the default IKE SA lifetime. This is the

initial value used for negotiations with the

remote host. The initial setting is 86400 (24

hours).

maxlifetime seconds

Specify the maximum IKE SA lifetime. This is

the maximum value the BSGX4e accepts

during negotiations. The initial setting is

259200 (72 hours).
