3.2 Technical Caveats
1. To use T.38 fax transport or continue using G.711 fax transport with Verizon Business SIP Trunking, one
of the following software updates must be applied using BCM Element Manager:
a. BCM050.R500.SU.System-010.201104 or later
b. BCM450.R500.SU.System-010.201104 or later
2. Inbound T.38 fax calls are failing to the Nortel BCM450 when going through the CS2000Combo gateway
using VSP3. The BCM450 sends re-invite for T.38 and receives a 200 OK from the gateway, however fax
fails.
Workaround: Use BCM Element Manager under Configuration > Resources > Telephony Resources:
Select module type “IP Trunks” and click on the SIP Media Parameters tab. In the codec Settings section,
set the Fax transport field to G.711.
