To test whether a ﬁle is present, use the if command with the following syntax:

if -ﬁle

<ﬁlename>

For example, the following script tests whether the install.bat ﬁle is present:

if -file install.bat=1 then;\

echo “File present”

To test whether a directory is present, use the if command with the following

syntax:

if -dir

<directory_name>

For example, the following script tests whether volume 2 is present:

if -dir 2:=1 then;\

echo “Volume 2 present”
