Communicating With the Host

VTCPD uses the message ID to route host messages and application responses.

VTCPD can be configured to establish the message ID (vtcpd -I N:M or

vtcpd -I N@string), or to allow the applications to establish the message ID

(vtcpd -i N:M or vtcpd -i N@string).

To establish the message ID from an application, include the message ID, based on the

length and starting position or string specified in the VTCPD configuration, in the

Resource block that contacts the host. For example:

A host driven application (see Host Driven Applications on page 76.) can establish

the message ID in the Resource block that contacts VTCPD. For example:
