Before you install Avaya MultiVantage Configuration Manager
(MCM), be sure that the computers you plan to install it on meet
the requirements listed in "System Requirements" on page 17.
MCM requires a functioning LAN to operate. The instructions in
this section assume that your LAN is fully operational and that all
MCM computers can ping each other.
In addition, to install MCM server software, you must have a Red
Hat Linux login with Administrator privileges, and to install the
MCM client shortcut, you must have Windows Administrator
privileges.

If your company has a support agreement with Avaya, then you
need to install a modem on the Linux server. This enables Avaya
service personnel to remotely troubleshoot and correct problems.
If you ever need remote Avaya support for MCM, complete the
following steps:
1. Install a modem on the Linux server.
2. Contact Avayas Technical Service Center (TSC).
From the US, dial: 1 800 242 2121. From outside the US,
contact your Avaya representative or dealer.
3. Give the TSC the phone number that they should use to
access the modem that is connected to your MCM server.
