8 Select Save this program to disk, and click the OK button.

The SaveAs dialog box appears.

9 Choose a location to which to save this file, and click the Save button.

The file begins downloading.

10 When the file is finished downloading, click the Close button.

11 Double-click on the i2050QoSService.exe file.

12 Follow the instructions on the display to complete the installation.

The IP 2050 Software Phone QoS Service is configured to start automatically as a Windows

service, so no further configuration is required for it.

Server configuration

After you have finished installing the IP Software Phone 2050, you must configure the server to

recognize and accept calls to and from the IP Software Phone 2050. For information about how to

configure your server, refer to the documentation that came with your server.

IP Software Phone 2050 Configuration Utility

You configure the IP Software Phone 2050 using the settings dialog box.

To start the configuration utility using the Control Panel

• Click Start > Control Panel > IP Software Phone 2050.

To start the configuration utility using the Start menu

• Click the Start > All Programs > Nortel > IP Software Phone 2050 > IP Software Phone

2050 Settings.

To start the configuration utility within the application

• Click File > Settings.

The IP Software Phone 2050 Settings utility has tabs for

•Server

• Sound Devices

• USB Headset Adapter

• Additional tabs for system administrators
